Congratulations Carol!

The year 2020 has been a year to remember. For most people, it will be a year they would like to forget. However, in Fairbanks Local Schools one person that will be especially happy to see January 1st is Carol Stillings.

Carol will be retiring on December 31, 2020. That will be her last official day as a Fairbanks employee after 40 years of service. Carol has served in a variety of roles across our district, but is leaving the position of payroll and benefits coordinator in our financial services department. Carol is responsible for making sure our employees are paid on time and receive their benefits. She has to have working knowledge of Ohio Revised Code, Federal Law, negotiated agreements, and board policy. It is a position that takes precision and attention to detail. In my two years in the district, Carol is my go to person for questions in these areas.

Everyday Carol comes into our office and goes to work. It is very typical to see her arrive early and stay late. It is not unusual, especially when large projects are taking place, to see her car in the parking lot over the weekend. This dedication is one of the reasons our financial services office is regularly recognized by the state auditor.

In addition to her time as an employee, Carol is an alumnus of Fairbanks High School. She is a member of the class of 1965. Her husband Lane is also an alumnus. They are two of my favorite people to watch Fairbanks basketball games with. They never miss Friday night basketball games.

As 2020 comes to end, we want to thank Carol Stillings for all that she has done for Fairbanks Local Schools. She exemplifies Panther Pride. Have a happy, healthy, and fun-filled retirement Carol! See you at a game soon!
